Parham House Landscape Workshop
This is a two-day workshop introducing students to a range of artistic approaches to Landscape, providing the opportunity for practical exploration of new ideas and creative processes in the beautiful and inspiring grounds and gardens of Parham House.
This workshop is suitable for those with some previous art experience who are looking for ways to extend and ‘free-up’ their practice leading to more personal expressive or abstract interpretations of Landscape.
The days will include sketching and taking photographs ‘en plein air’, followed by instruction, practical demonstration, and exploration in the ‘studio’. Students will be introduced to the work of relevant modern and contemporary artists, including the tutor’s own sketchbooks. There will be the opportunity to utilise photographic sources in different ways, to try a range of media, explore alternative compositions, and develop a series of individual interpretations in response to the surroundings.
Your Tutor for the workshop is Colleen Conti, a successful landscape artist with 37 years’ experience in Art Education and leadership, extensive knowledge of Art History and skill in a wide range of materials, processes, and techniques. https://www.colleencontiart.com
Essential materials are provided but you are welcome to bring any additional media you wish to use. The course fee is £150 which includes admission to the grounds of Parham for both days, but entry to Parham House is additional. Tea and coffee will be supplied, food is available from the café but it can be busy, so you may prefer to bring a packed lunch.
